Crab Island
If you've talked to anyone about Destin, you've likely heard of Crab Island. Believe it or not, Crab Island is not an island at all. It is a submerged sand bar in the water near the Destin Harbor that has been a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike for many, many years.
Crab Island is only accessible by boat. DO NOT try to swim from either shore as the currents surrounding the "island" can be strong at times. Renting a pontoon boat from one of the local vendors is the easiest way to access the area. You can typically rent either a full or half day, depending on how long you'd like to stay. Other companies also offer cruises and shuttle boats to the area, so we've included some contact info for you below. It is highly recommended that you book your boat rental or excursion in advance to ensure your dates don't sell out, especially around holidays and during the summer/spring break time frames.

Big Kahuna's Water and Adventure Park
No trip to Destin is complete without a trip to the water park, so much for kids and adults alike! The park typically opens for weekends during spring break, then 7 days a week between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with additional weekends in September.
*Tip: Arrive before the 10am open time to maximize your time at the park without crowds.

Harborwalk Village
Harborwalk Village offers several restaurants, shopping, entertainment and even zip lines and a rock climbing wall for kids. You'll definitely want to spend at least one evening here during your stay. Fireworks will be displayed every Thursday night between Memorial Day and Labor Day and this is an excellent spot to watch them!
